Emergency Assistance Repair Program

The Residential Assistance Program (RAP) has been discontinued. It has been replaced by the Emergency Assistance Repair Program (EARP), made available through special funding to be administered by the NEAD office. This program is open to homeowners who meet income and family size guidelines, and are in need of emergency repairs to the outside of their homes which they could not otherwise afford. More info…


CDF Freedom School
CDF Freedom School

NEAD partners with the Children's Defense Fund headquartered in Washington, DC to sponsor the NEAD/CDF Freedom School in Rochester. As the only community development agency in Upstate New York to sponsor the Freedom School, NEAD has received local, state and national recognition for its cutting edge programming.

Tool Library
Tool Library

NEAD has an extensive collection of large and small tools which members may borrow to help in maintaining their property. The Tool Library is open Monday through Friday between the hours of 3:00pm and 6:00pm. The membership application process is quick and simple. For a nominal fee, homeowners may join and have access to the Tool Library for an entire year.

Commercial Development
Wehle Building

In addition to housing development, NEAD renovates commercial properties. Doing so reduces the number of blighted areas in our neighborhood and increases/protects surrounding property values. The most noteworthy of these renovations are the famous Landmark Building, the Dazzle Theatre and the latest venture, the NEAD/CDF Freedom Center.

Beechwood Neighborhood Coalition
Beechwood Neighborhood Coalition

The Beechwood Neighborhood Coalition is a volunteer neighborhood group working to enhance the Beechwood Neighborhood. We hear relevant speakers and discuss neighborhood activities at our regular meetings. We meet at 7pm on the first Thursday of each month at the newly developed Ryan Center located at 500 Webster Avenue. Please Join us!
